Elizabeth Mahan, Ph.D.
As Associate Executive Director of the Office of International Affairs at the University of Connecticut, Elizabeth Mahan coordinates the University's international and area studies degree programs and serves as the campus Fulbright Program Advisor. Dr. Mahan also works with faculty and OIA staff to develop and administer international grants for university linkages and other international projects. Her research has focused on media-state relations and popular culture in Latin America, and she has consulted on development of undergraduate programs in international and area studies. She was Director of the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies at UConn from 1992-2002, and is a past president of the New England Council of Latin American Studies, the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP), and the Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC).
